It is a gigantic, muscular infected that has the ability to swipe at survivors, knocking them off their feet and incapacitating them; he can also throw rocks, cars, and other debris at the survivors. The Tank is the most durable of all the special infected, and requires the full support of all survivors to be killed. The Tank appears rarely, usually during crescendo events or finales.

The ground shook before he even saw it, a rhythmic thud that vibrated through the soles of his boots. Then came the roar—a sound that wasn't human, but something deeper, like tectonic plates grinding together. From the fog of the abandoned highway, a silhouette emerged, towering over the rusted cars. It didn't walk; it lumbered with terrifying speed, muscles rippling under grey, scarred skin. With a scowl of pure hatred, the giant grabbed a discarded motorcycle and hurled it like a pebble. The survivors scattered, but the Tank was already closing in, its massive fists raised to deliver a blow that would end them all.
